Educating for Global Citizenship
According to the National Association of Independent Schools mandate, “21st Century independent schools must prepare students to be knowledgeable, compassionate citizens and effective leaders within a rapidly transforming world. This objective requires an understanding of one’s own culture while extending well beyond the boundary of the nation where instruction occurs.”
With intent to support student leaders and contradict isolation across diversity, Dimensions Consulting provides independent school students and faculty with a rich cultural resource at a critical stage in teen identity development.
Although integration of diversity within the larger school community is often a priority within schools, it is often student clubs that serve as the primary point of connection to multicultural experiences. With intent to support student leaders and contradict isolation across diversity,

We hope that you will use our assessment tool and questionnaire to make corollaries and to engage your creativity. We look forward to a great conversation!
Students who attend independent high schools have a particular need for cultural identity resources. Although integration of diversity within the larger school community is often a priority within schools, it is often student clubs that serve as the primary point of connection to multicultural experiences. In most cases, prep-school youth attend quality institutions that offer a wide range of options for academic, sports, arts, community service, and social networking activities. These educational environments provide a desirable advantage in applying to top tier colleges, but, in many cases, also create intense academic and social pressures that constrain students’ options for active multi-cultural engagement. Teens in independent high schools, by virtue of their schedules alone, are at high risk for losing their connection to unique cultural identities in regard to race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, class, and other categories, in years of their lives that are formative to relationships, perspectives, and identity allegiances that will carry them into adulthood.
